So it's been awhile... I'm now up in Ogden with my new hubby. I got married 2 1/2 weeks ago.. It was the most perfect day! The temple was so amazing, the way you feel in there is indescribable.. I always wanted to get married in the temple since I can remember but I didn't understand how important it would be till I was actually to that point. To have everyone you love (mostly) in one room in the most holiest place on earth being sealed for ETERNITY knowing that your family will be together forever is the most comforting and peaceful feeling. Elder Nelson was able to seal us and just to be in the presence of an apostle and feel their spirit and testimony, strengthens yours. The day before, Kav and I met with him at his office on temple square and we were kind of expecting him to give us this crazy advice on marriage, but we got in there and it was so simple. He said the most important things in marriage to do are to always pay your tithing and pray together and he told us that every one of the marriages that he has counciled that have problems or even have ended were either not praying together or paying their tithing or both. So simple, but so powerful. It makes me realize that really when you think about it, the gospel is simple. In time the small simple things are the big things, the ones that count.. I am so grateful for my wonderful family for helping me to get to the temple and always being perfect examples of the savior for me. After the ceremony we got outside for pictures and it was FREEZING! and I dont know how i did it but we went around with the photographer for like an hour and a half.. I'm not going to lie I was numb, all the way through.. I liked the way we timed it though cause by the time we were done at the temple it was time for the dinner. (for those of you who don't know we did a dinner instead of a reception... we wanted it to be more intimate and more of a party than a greeting line.. I highly recommend it!!) So The dinner was at the Point at the huntsman cancer institute and it was our dream wedding! it looks over all of Salt Lake and it was timed perfect so right as it was starting the sun was setting.. Dinner was delish and probably my favorite part was when our families all got up and gave us a little tribute.. nothing could make you feel better than to have the people you look up to most, give you a little piece of their hearts. My mom wrote us a poem that once i get a hold of it I'll post it on here; my dad recorded a song called cinderella by steven curtis chapman and it was also the song for our daddy daughter dance he has an amazing voice; Scotie and Katie also recorded the way i am by ingrid michealson, they're going to be famous someday.. I mean they're gorgeous on the inside and out so kind to everyone they know and insanely talented at everything they do. Amie and Tav helped out so much with the wedding, taking our pics, designing our invitations, taking my bridals, etc etc.. They are amazing and so creative and we are lucky to have them as best friends and bro and sis. And then Dusty my big bro was so sweet, he's really not one to express his feelings and one day he came up to me and just said that it probably wouldn't hit him till I was gone but that he'd really miss me. and he kissed me on the cheek.. WOW dusty never does stuff like that.. it made me feel so good! And then Kavins Mom, step dad, dad, Krisha, Whitney and sage took a turn up there and I couldn't have married into a better family. I love them all so much. And it makes living up here a little easier to have them all around. The rest of the dinner/party we just chilled and I dont think we left till ten but I didnt even care cause it was my party why would i want to skip out early to go to the hotel? haha anyways.. That pretty much sums the day up.. I loved every minute of it and I am so glad that my beautiful mother suggested we do it that way. I love being married and I am so grateful for all the people who helped me get there! I miss all you st georgians but hopefully I will see you soon..
